I’m talking specific neighborhoods
I’m talking SPECIFIC NEIGHBORHOODS
I can only speak for Winnipeg because I don’t really know the names of the neighbourhoods in other cities. I know Regina has a bad area but I just don’t know where it is or what it’s called.
In Winnipeg, it’s the West and North ends. These names are actually deceiving because the areas are more central than anything else. However, the area just west of downtown and certain areas just north of downtown are typically where all the crime occurs.
Winnipeg gets a rap for being the murder capital. While technically true on a per capita basis, the title is misleading because most of the murders are the result of late night drinking parties gone bad in those areas. One year over 90% of the murders that happened were within a 6×6 block area.
I want to live in a BLACK NEIGHBORHOOD!!!!!!
Detroit
i live in AL and i’m dreading having to play wild goose chase over the phone by calling the police department to figure it out. besides, i’d like to SEE and be able to record the results. i want crime statistics for each neighborhood as i’m planning on moving and need to know which neighborhoods to keep an eye on.
Yup, go to a search engine (google, yahoo, etc) and type in "crime rate", the zip code you want to know about, and maybe the year. Should be one of the first two links.
I am specifically looking for Smithfield, AL. Everytime I type it in (including zipcode) it comes back with no results, but directs me to Birmingham. Smithfield is a part of Birmingham, but I only need information regarding Smithfield and *not* Birmingham. I have spent all morning on the internet trying to find the right information.
Anything will help
Thanks!
Here you will find some information and maps.
Today I saw him & his wife out running. Do you feel he wants to ask me if I saw anything this weekend? I have seen a lot of crime or vandalism in my neighborhood this summer.
Do you feel he wants to talk to me and maybe start a neighborhood crime watch?
He does work in law enforcement.
He wants to tell you about a person he suspects is a peeping tom. You should close your curtains at night.
A neighborhood crime spree was thwarted when a homeowner fired a shot at a would-be robber in Houston, Texas. The homeowner had installed a security camera just hours earlier, and caught the suspect trying to steal property from the yard.
Texas law allows the use of deadly force to protect lives and property.

Long time North Central residents say crime has been steadily rising in their neighborhood over the years. Residents say, “Danger is everywhere with no relief.”
While rising emotions are understandable in North Central, one needs to be rational given the situation of crime in Regina. According to a 2008 report by Statistics Canada and the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics, Regina leads the nation in overall crime. Regina crime levels stood at 10,998 per 100,000 population. Violent crime levels increased to 1478 per 100,000. Regina’s crime rate remained the highest per capita among major Canadian cities.
Although national statistics show Regina has the highest crime in Canada, Regina city council doesn’t believe these statistics. The Mayor continues to minimize the problem of the highest crime rate in Canada. Furthermore, commercial issues remain city councils main focus. Moreover, Regina city council appear to be afraid to deal with public safety issues that effect the people who reside in North Central. .
Although it doesn’t matter what Regina city hall believes, crime and violence are rising in Regina. Areas of North Central are under the control of gangs. Gangs tags litter every block of North Central. Additionally, more North Central city blocks continue to be controlled by gangs. Finally, residents avoid areas of Regina entirely due to gangs.
As it stands at Regina city hall, city council better start believing crime and gangs are rising in Regina. Present gang statistics show police out-numbered. According to the latest CSIS statistics on gangs, there are 1200 gang members in Regina. Consequently, the Regina city police only have 343 sworn police members. Roughly Regina police are outnumbered four to one.
Whatever the numbers of gangs or police, some things about crime and gangs shouldn’t be ignored. North Central gangs have been shown to have an arsenal of weapons comparable to a small army. Numerous internet sites such as YouTube, Myspace, and Bebo show Regina gangs with an arsenal of grenades, AK47s, semi-automatic guns, hand guns, shotguns, bullet proof vests, machetes, knifes, etc.
Even if Regina city council isn’t aware of the rising gang weapons problem, Regina city hall needs to wake up and become conscious. Regina gangs have found ways around government initiatives to deal with crime. For example, Regina gangs often relocate to another house in North Central if they are evicted under the Safer Communities and Neighborhood Act. Moreover there are enough cash starved landlords in North Central who rent homes to these gangs pooling their money. Consequently governmental initiatives have become largely ineffective at curbing growing crime and gangs in Regina.
While crime and gangs have gotten the jump on Regina city hall, crime and gangs don’t have the jump on national media bodies. Regina has become infamous in the media. Regina is known to have the “Worst Neighborhood in Canada.” Additionally Regina was named “The Most Dangerous City” in 2008. Finally, the federal government commissioned a “Regina Survival Guide and Map”for the poor in 2009.
