I was in my old ghetto neighborhood visiting my brother. Anyways, I recognized alot of the guys and just asked them how they’ve been even though we rarely ever talked. While I was walking towards the section 8 housing district (no parking lot) I was squinting at this thug who looked too familiar, I didn’t know him. He starts waddling towards me with his rocawear jeans sagging, as usual, and all I remember seeing is receiving a saliva shower along with seeing rusty grillz as he provocatively asks me "why u be grillin me, u house nikka?" I then proceed to run as fast as I can and he chases me until he suddenly stops as I enter my brother’s neighborhood, as if stopped by an invisible barrier. I noticed the blue bandana "hanging" from his left pocket and also notice that the thugs in this neighborhood who were "posting up" were wearing red hoodies. So he would have been shot on sight if he entered this neighborhood.
So what does "grilling" mean?
To continuously stare at someone, giving an impression of disliking
(urban dictionary is awesome.)
Any ideas? I have no idea where to look.. I need to get some fast though because there were 2 break-ins in my neighborhood and the house has ALOT of windows!!
Lowes and Home Depot sell home security systems. They work OK. ADT/Broadview/etc isn’t too expensive. Our home is in a shady neighborhood and we actually save money having our Broadview system (our home insurance is significantly lower). Lowe’s and Home Depot also sell metal grates you can get for the windows. You can also buy window locks, they’re inexpensive but good.
Best of luck!

Well it wasn’t necessarily my experience. I was with my boyfriends and we went to a neighborhood bar and grill. My boyfriend had went to go to the bathroom and when he came back he was soo pissed off. He demanded that we leave I was like what the hell is wrong with you. Then he showed me that he had stepped in some s h ! t while in the bathroom. I died laughing, but we did leave.
It was at a Fridays restaurant so I wasn’t expecting a 5 star restaurant experience. To make a long story short, to took us 3 1/2 hours to eat a meal that featured frozen salads, incorrect dressings, entrees, sides, etc. It took forever in between mistakes to get the correct items that we ordered. To top it all off, the server brought the check and I paid her with a $50 for the bill (which was about $30) she never came back with change and I had to hunt her down to get it. She thought the crappy service she gave us was actually worth a 60% tip and took it upon herself to keep my change!

I just bought a small house, am a single parent. The neighbor next to me, on the corner, has 3 dogs, 2 are aggressive (pitbulls) which he leaves in the yard all the time.
He is ‘retired’, and around all the time. I can’t work in my backyard without a ‘visit’ from him, asking me all sorts of personal questions…in the guise of friendliness. He has done things to my property while I wasnt home ‘in order to be helpful’ without asking (trimmed a hedge, ect.).
He states he keeps a gun, and the ‘guard dogs’ to protect his house from all the ‘gang members’ in the city. Yet, he says he helps these young gang members because they dont have father figures, and one came to his house the other day, he said, oh thats a ‘blood’. He said all I have to do is make a phone call if someone bothers me, I got so and so down the block to move.
His dogs bark off and on all the time. After 5 months of this, and also sometimes music blaring in their backyard, I went over and said their dog seems like they want to come in (to his non-employed 25 yo son), he put him in the backyard kennel, that didnt work. I went back over there, and said this isnt working, they said, I am cleaning, he is not coming in, and I said ok, I will just call the police then.
My daughter was grilling in the backyard, and I went out to check on her, the neighbor (dad) was back there said I want to talk to you, I said not now (I was MAD), he repeateded that I repeated, ect, then he said I am not going anywhere, and he said ‘I run this neighborhood’. I walked away to the neighbors across the alley.
Is this a veiled threat? How can I get them to leave me the f alone, and respect others peace. Also should I be fearful?
I hope you are renting because you can move more easily. Yes, it was a threat, and it wasn’t veiled very well. And yes, you should be fearful and probably leave him alone. It sounds like a ghetto and he has made some contacts to get done what he wants done. I’d leave them alone, stop complaining about the dogs, don’t expect help from the police, and look for another place to live.
Edit: I see others advising you to confront him, etc., most likely a good way to get a knife in your ribs or a bomb in your house.

If I were you I would just move. Sell the house and go if you can. Neighbors are a lifetime thing… or atlease long-term and believe me your life would be misserable living next to a neighbor like that.
Going to the police would solve things for the mean time but not in the long run. After you go to the police he may hold grudes against you and who knows what’s this guy will do to you and your family.
He sounds very agressive and dangerous espescially if he has ties with gang members. It also sounds like he likes to scare people with his gun.
So move away if you can. If you can’t, I guess you’ll have to deal with him. Fighting back sounds to dangerous.
