Mostly colonial post and beam covered in clapboards. My town incorporated in 1639.

I have to make a choice between an updated home in an older neighborhood or a newer home in a more modern neighborhood. The home in the older neighborhood has almost everything I want and is much larger, but which makes the most sense as an investment?

Its your own choice what you want to select but i would prefer to have an older neighbourhood

Are there any neighborhoods with older antique homes in the Denver Co area?

My husband and I are thinking of relocating to Denver from New England. Right now, we live in a home built in 1910 which has a lot of character and charm. We have been looking at the Lakewood neighborhood and most of the homes in our price range ($200k – $275) were built in the 60’s or later. Are there any areas we can look at that would have more antique homes (built around 1900-1930)? Any advise is appreciated. Thank you!

Your best bet would be find a realtor in the city you are looking to buy in and ask them what neighborhoods the "historical" homes are in. All cities have these homes. I live in a historical district in a home built in 1905! I prefer the older homes and neighborhoods too! You cannot beat the craftmanship and charm!

You could also just Google "historical neighborhoods" or something like that in Lakewood.

I’m 21. Have had credit since 18 n a score of 660. I’m looking to get a 60k loan so I can buy a 25k foreclosure in rehabable condition to fix up and sell. I am looking for a new community in Austin that has the Austin modern architecture but still in a neighborhood community with a shared pool or individual pools…Gated would also be great. Good schools, and safe neighborhood. I like a airy, white, light interior…Price range 500,000 and up 3 bedrooms…Anything like this exist!?? lol Thank you!!

I also have at least 10 on the market, in my neighborhood. Most are foreclosures or short sales, selling for $75,000 to $100,000 less than for what they sold for 5 yrs ago. (Chicago burbs)

On my street, which is about 200-300 yards long, 6 or 7. Not a very big street and it’s a small town.

I would wait until most of the other homes are sold to gauge what the coal company is willing to pay and ask for just over what the highest sale price was (assuming all of the properties in the area are similar to yours). I would make sure that they know that you intend to sell but you want to wait a while to make sure you are making the right decision. Unless it’s some form of condemnation, I don’t believe you have to sell at either appraised value, the company is just using the appraisal as a negotiation point. In fact, you should not sell for the appraised value because the appraisal assumes a typically motivated seller and purchaser and this is not an arm’s-length transaction.

Does neighborhood electricity usage effect a homes amperage amount?

For example: I notice that when I microwave hot water for 2 minutes at 7am, it is not as hot as it would be at 2-3 am. ( I wish I had time to do a controlled experiment with this) Does the amount of electricity used by your neighbors during high-usage times affect the amount of electricity available to an individual home? Electricity to a set of homes is supplied by a main transformer which has a particular capacity ( in kW)
When the total consumption of power exceeds the capacity of the transformer the voltage across the appliances drops.
At high – usage times or peak hours all your neighbors use the appliances simultaneously there is a drop in the voltage supply. It takes more time to heat up. A water pump lifts water slowly. The light bulbs become duller.
