What are the best neighborhoods in Tampa for a single parent to live?

I’m looking to move out of NYC and head down to Florida in June 2013. I love Tampa and would love to know what are the best neighborhoods for families/ neighborhoods with the best public schools. I will be applying for jobs with the health insurance companies and I noticed most of them are located next to Tampa International Airport so I don’t want my driving commute to be super long. I’m a young mom I also want to be close to some sort of city area. Any suggestions?

LOL the only thing i saw in and around Tampa were trailer parks and shooting ranges. When I went into one of the trailer homes there were cockroaches and rednecks who called their 10 year old daughter ’shithead’ as a nickname. As I said, I saw nothing but trailer parks all the way to the airport from a city outside of Tampa really shows that the place has gone downhill. Most of the population at public schools in those parts of Florida would probably be trashy. In fact Florida is known to have the worst public schools in the country. I sure wouldn’t want to move there or have my kids grow up in Florida aka the south’s trashcan.

UWS and UES look great but is Midtown worth considering also? Additionally, why are the real estate taxes so much higher in UES for the same priced condo or co-op compared to other neighborhoods? Thanks for help in advance!

Im moving to oahu, hawaii to attend hawaii pacific university. What neighborhoods should i start looking at apartments in? Id like no longer than a 20-25 minute drive. Also a bonus if you include neighborhoods/areas which are between hpu and u of hawaii. Im a mainlander and know nothing of the area. Also would prefer if the areas are not city center, like honolulu.

HPU has some info for incoming students, so you should check with them if you have not already done so. Kukui Gardens is not a bad location for an HPU student to live, as it’s across the street from much of the downtown "campus," but personally I don’t like the area safety at night, so it’s up to you about what you feel safe with.

Also, you may want to post additional questions with more information, such as how much you want to pay for rent, whether or not you have a car or will be using public transportation, and if you want to share or are accompanied and need a larger place, etc. etc.

If you are attending the Windward campus (the Hawaii Loa campus in Kaneohe), then look in Kailua and Kaneohe. Either will be within that drive time if you stay between the Windward Mall area and the Enchanted Lakes/Keolu Hills area of Kailua. Maunawili and Olomana/Pohakupu subdivisions are the nicer (and pricier) areas closer to the Pali Highway corridor/main route to downtown Honolulu.

If you are attending the downtown Honolulu campus, it will be hard to avoid the city center/Honolulu and be within 25 minutes of campus.

If you want to live between the downtown campus and UH-Manoa, try Makiki, Punahou, Manoa (pricier) and Punchbowl/Pauoa, Mo`ili`ili, McCully, and Kapi`olani/Date (bit less pricey, lots of condos/rentals, all price ranges). Kaimuki and Palolo put you right at the edge of that 25 minute drive, past it in bad rush hours. Makiki is probably your best bet, with many choices of types of condos, some close to stores, 10 minutes from stores, shopping ctrs, beach (by car/bike), on the buslines, etc.

Isn’t the monitoring of Muslim neighborhoods AND students in the Universities akin to racism and bigotry?

I will concede just a little on the monitoring of certain mosques and neighborhoods, but students in College are there to learn.

So isn’t that wrong to monitor students who are bettering themselves?

about the same as giving certain races extra points because of their race

I remember that in the original Sims Unleashed, you could click on a community lot and build a cafe or gathering place, or even a garden/park. Are you still able to do this? And can you delete a community building you don’t want there? And…What happens when your neighborhood is full…are you supposed to just delete people to make more room?

if you buy a community lot or go to edit town, you can put all of the premade buildings (bookstore, grocery story, spa, etc.) there and use them just like the original, and if you are in edit town you can switch a lot from private to community and vise versa. As for if your neighborhood is full, unfortunately i don’t think you can add lots to a city

How do internet cafes work in Paris?

I’m moving to Paris in a week for 5 months and the place I’ll be living doesn’t have internet access.
They say there are internet cafes in the neighborhood, but are internet cafes free?
The reason this is a big deal for me is because I’m going to Paris for school. I’ll need to use the internet.

Also, do libraries have free internet access?
The reason I asked is because I’ve never used them, in any country.

Internet cafes charge you because they live on that. They rent PCs and charge you for Internet or to print.

The best is to bring your laptop, with wifi and go to Mc Donald’s, Starbucks or to other many places that have free wifi.

You can also use Internet for free at public libraries but you have to subscribe, it’s free.

Your school may give you better advice.

Hi, I am looking to open up a cafe shop on the other side of my husband’s barbershop. I think this will be a good investment for the neighborhood and for the customers of the barbershop while waiting to get their haircut, so what i need some help on is what kind of things will i need to make this a success and what kind of foods can i have on my menu?

In the UK there are all sorts of Hygiene regulations concerning the preparation and sale of food.

one of the neighbors set this up with other neighbors , the neighbor who set this up does not like us and now we are under a neighborhood crime watch and are phones are tapped by the police but i dont understand when we are not criminals and how long is this going to go on any answers?

I suggest you use aluminum foil and line your windows with aluminum foil. It will break of the watch signals, and help you avoid detection Also, fashioning a hat of aluminum foil will prevent them from hearing your phone calls when you are wearing it.
