Have you ever had a great invention that you came up with stolen by another person or company?

Just curious what you might have come up with and thought to yourself "WOW" what an original idea. Then have it show up on the television or hear it on the news or something.

A couple of years ago I was sitting at a neighborhood grill and bar with a buddy tossing back a couple of pops and I started talking about an airline by Hooters. It wasnt more than just a few short months after I said that in public the "Hooters Airline" was born. I could not believe it. My buddy even called me to tell me they ripped my idea. Anything like this happen to you?

Yeah, it was a toy idea. I was very young at the time (about 8), and wrote to a certain toy company about it. They sent me a nice little letter back saying that they couldn’t accept ideas from outside people bla bla bla. About a year later, they came out with what I had suggested.

Can you recommend a good sit down restaurant in NYC I would like to spend $30 between $75 for a meal.

I would like somewhere with a cool atmosphere and good food. I do not like Sushi or Indian. My favorite kind of food is Italian.

Any neighborhood will do. I will be taking a date there.

What Kind of Equipment do i need to open a small pastry / coffee shop?

I would like to open a small cafe in my neighborhood..it would be at least 1500 sq ft..does anyone know pricing on the equipment i would need or where to get quotes?..im starting from scratch so its from silverware to convection ovens and mixers..any help would be appreciated..thanks

I used to deliver dairy products to small cafe’s. Depends on how much you have to invest….You can start out with a single coffee maker and an oven or do the whole works….I’d say to visit or talk to a small owner of a cafe…The people I’ve met in cafe’s are the nicest people….good luck

What are safe, inexpensive neighborhoods in San Francisco?

I don’t have a family and don’t need to live in a yuppie, gentrified area. I am looking for a neighborhood that is relatively inexpensive and safe. It doesn’t have to be super fancy, but should be accessible to public transportation. I like eclectic, funkier neighborhoods, but without the high rental prices. Any suggestions?

You can also look at the Sunset and the Richmond. Both are a little further out, but still in the city. They are safe areas and are closer to the beach. They are safe, but cheaper since they are closer to the water and the weather is cooler and foggy in those areas.

You can also look for a roommate (or two) by going to www.craigslist.com. You can look at the roommate section for any of the areas in the city. If you are looking for funky, you’ll want to look in the Mission, Alamo Square and/or the upper or lower Haight. You’ll want to make sure you meet any potential roommates first in person. I’ve done this before and after quite a bit of looking, ended up in a great situation (paying only $900 a month) and with a new friend for life.

So do we think the neighborhood stabilization act is really working? Did it give enough time to work with the renters why they tore up this house?.. The tenants ripped out everything,all the carpet, sinks (cant even tell where the kitchen is) the stove,cabinets,light fixtures, all the electric in the basement,shower heads and nozzles etc.. TORE IT UP!. Obama trashes house.. THESE WERE JUST TENANTS PEOPLE, why we are pro longing the eviction this is whats happening inside the homes.. comment below and let us know your opinion. Dayton Receives Neighborhood Stabilization Funding

A regional consortium led by the City of Dayton will receive $29.3 million in federal Recovery Act funds to support neighborhood revitalization. The Neighborhood Stabilization Program II funds will allow the area cities and organizations (Dayton, Montgomery County, Dayton Metropolitan Housing Authority, Kettering and Fairborn)
to address approximately 1,200 vacant, abandoned or foreclosed structures.
The City of Dayton will use the award in the following ways: demolition and deconstruction;
purchase and rehabilitation of foreclosed homes; and financing for rehabilitation of foreclosed
properties. The Citys goals are to return properties to the housing market and stabilize/revitalize
neighborhoods disproportionately affected by foreclosure and the economic recession.
Dayton neighborhoods most likely to be impacted by the grant funds include Santa Clara, the
Greater Inner West area, Westwood, Twin Towers, Walnut Hills, Linden Heights and the Inner
East area.
