If you know a crime is being committed against another, and do nothing, you are choosing to abet the criminal act and, as such, become an accomplice in the crime. Once you know something you become responsible, whether you accept the responsibility or not. You are saddled with a duty to help the victim, its how civilized society works. Would you want another to watch you be victimized and remain silent? I wouldn’t, and neither would any other reasonable person.

Personally I would without hesitation if another person was victimized (either themselves or their property) since I would hope the same would be done for me if I was a victim (or a family member).
I have to be honest and say that if it were more of a drug crime, I probably wouldn’t.

Yes..,I am not going to tell you because its the right thing to do because you know that.If they are a friend or family..,if they did something to hurt someone else.,.whether its stealing or killing someone..,just remember they will do it again and again as long as they can get away with it.And each time will get a little braver,a little cockier and more dangerous.Stop it while you can.

Nope. I saw a man beating up a woman and I called police and told what happened and gave my info. Later I was called by the states attorney to testify agains him b/c the woman he beat would not. I refused b/c the incident happened so long ago that I could not remember details, I was held in contempt of court and got in trouble myself. As a student I missed alot of class, missed work for being subpeona to court, and I was a single parent of two kids at the time. I later found out the man who did the beatings lived nearby and he knew where I lived, my car got vandalized 3 times until I eventually moved. I still see this guy occasionally in stores and on the street. I am always scared of this happening again!

I have never had any problem with reporting a crime. I would expect someone to report me if I was breaking the law, even as far as speeding or drunk driving.
As for drug crimes, I see no difference in them or a spouse or child abuse, they are both crimes. As to someone paying me a visit, be my guest, you can also visit my Western Field 12 guage with four choke settings from full bore to full choke.
I know what my state laws are for self defense and I would not hesitate to institute my right to be safe in my home. Away from home, it is not hard to summon a LEA by cell phone if needed, or simply head for a crowded area, as most criminals do not like to perform their deeds in front of witnesses, especially such as a grocery store or mall parking lot with lots of people around not to mention security cameras.

Do what you would want others to do for you. Just be careful. Maybe go down to the police station instead of them coming to you if you choose to help.

Definitely — I would make sure they had the photo I took of the Criminal from my cell phone, the license plate of the vehicle the criminal was driving, and any other information I could provide.

TOO many times Victimized by an Ex-Spouse from approx a decade and half ago — who robbed my home recently. This is the time for ACTION folks — protect your neighborhood and those around you — because if you do NOT — Violent Abusers and Criminals (like my ex) are ALLOWED to continue to keep harassing, abusing, stalking, committing more crimes, and doing this with impunity. Do you think the Criminal CARES one whit about their fellow man? NO!!!!
