Jacob In Japan #20 – Pizza And Flashing Distractions

Jacob and I explored my neighbourhood. We got a Hawaiian Pizza complete with corn. You cannot get a pizza in Japan without some corn on it. Then we looked around the neighbourhood. We saw flashing lights, people standing on the backs of bicycles (again) and unusual items in a convinience store.

MJ Vacco, owner of Scornovacca’s Pizza, Des Moines favorite neighborhood pizza joint, is a guest on KCCI’s morning show on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009.

He demonstrates how to make a perfect Italian grinder with the restaurant’s line of local products: Martino’s sausage, marinara sauce and ranch dressing. The product line, featuring the same homemade products MJ uses to create Scornovacca’s menu items, will be available in the restaurant this spring.
